Clinical Orders Coordinator

The Clinical Orders Coordinator is responsible for coordinating and tracking physician orders to support timely documentation, regulatory compliance, and billing requirements within the Home Health department. This role serves as a key point of contact for physicians, physician representatives, and internal departments to obtain, process, and maintain accurate and completed orders. The Clinical Orders Coordinator works closely with clinical and operational teams to ensure orders are properly documented within the point-of-care system, required information is obtained, and communication is maintained throughout the process.

What You'll Do as a Clinical Orders Coordinator

  • Participates in tracking system of all physicians' orders to ensure compliance with all federal and state laws/regulations and timely billing.
  • Provide back-up for the preparation of outgoing documents to include but not limited to: physicians' orders utilizing point-of-care documentation system according to current policy.
  • Maintains accurate directory services as pertaining to physicians and/or physician representatives utilizing point-of-care documentation system.
  • Serves as a liaison to physicians/physician representatives/accounting via phone, fax, and or email for the purposes of attaining signed and completed physicians' orders to ensure compliance with all federal and state laws/regulations and timely billing.
  • Organizes & educates on physician's electronic order portal within point of care documentation system when available.
  • Has access use and ability to disclose personal health information (“PHI”) necessary to fulfill the above duties and responsibilities and as defined by the organization.

What You'll Need

Required:

  • High School graduate or equivalent; Associate degree preferred.
  • One-year health care/business experience in a fast-paced, customer service environment.
  • History of success as evidenced by increased responsibilities and/or promotions.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Planning and organizing skills to achieve personal and business unit goals.
