Program Coordinator

A well-established nonprofit known for enriching the lives of older adults is seeking a Program Coordinator to plan and run its community programs. The organization operates a busy senior center offering fitness, education, social, and wellness programs for hundreds of members. This is a full-time, on-site role with a weekday schedule and occasional evening or weekend events. Core Responsibilities

• Plan, schedule, and deliver a calendar of educational, fitness, wellness, and social programs
• Recruit, onboard, and coordinate instructors, presenters, and volunteers
• Track program attendance, outcomes, and member feedback
• Build partnerships with community organizations, health providers, and local businesses
• Promote programs through newsletters, social media, and member communications
• Manage program supplies, room setup, and budgets within approved limits
• Support grant reporting with accurate program data
• Welcome members and handle questions and concerns with warmth and professionalism
• Coordinate special events and seasonal activities
• Ensure programs follow safety, accessibility, and organizational policies
• Develop new program ideas based on member interests, community needs, and participation trends
• Prepare monthly program reports and share results with leadership and the board

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in recreation, gerontology, social work, communications, or a related field, or equivalent experience
• Two years or more of experience coordinating programs, events, or activities, preferably with older adults or in a nonprofit
• Strong organization, communication, and volunteer management skills
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office or Google Workspace and basic social media tools
• Ability to lift up to 25 pounds for event setup
• Ability to pass a background check
• Comfort speaking in front of groups and leading introductions, announcements, and small events
• Flexibility to work occasional evenings or weekends for special events

Benefits & Pay

Pay: $38,000 - $45,000 per year, based on experience and schedule. Benefits for eligible employees are confirmed during the interview process and may include:
