GE Greenville Gas Turbine Machinist Apprentice Program

Learn to become a machinist working in GE Greenville's Gas Turbine Manufacturing Factory. The 3-year program provides multiple rotations through the factory to learn machining, assembly, Lean fundamentals, inspection, CAD applications, as well as on-machine and CNC Programming.

The program combines on-the-job training with coursework through a local community college. Apprentices are paid for on-the-job training, and tuition, fees, and books are paid by GE Vernova (via Tuition Reimbursement). You will earn a 2-year Machine Tool Technology Associates Degree. Training includes basic measurements, safety, print reading, NX CAD/CAM, and many other manufacturing processes.

The program provides hands-on experience working in a manufacturing environment, skill set with the latest machining technology, personal development through coaching and mentoring, and the ability to make a measurable impact. You will enter an in-demand skilled craft.

Qualifications/Requirements include having a high school diploma, GED or equivalent, by the start of the program on December 7th, 2026. You must maintain a minimum 3.0 GPA – per semester and cumulative, be 18 years or older by December 7th, 2026, and successfully complete a background check and drug screen. Legal authorization to work in the U.S. is required.

Desired qualifications include strong mechanical and mathematical aptitude, a strong team member attitude, the ability to work closely with other apprentices, great communication skills, and manufacturing or applicable mechanical experience.
