Forklift Operator (Greer/2nd)

Description:

We are hiring a reliable and safety-focused Forklift Operator to join our warehouse team. This role involves the manual and equipment-assisted loading and unloading of freight, general warehouse labor, maintenance, and inventory handling. The Forklift Operator will take full ownership of the assigned dock area and ensure all materials are processed and stored accurately, safely, and efficiently.

2nd shift: 230pm to 12am -M/F w/OT as needed
$17.50 per hour

Key Responsibilities:

Shipping & Receiving

  • Unload and load trucks using hand trucks, pallet jacks, or forklifts
  • Check merchandise against purchase orders and sales orders
  • Properly document, scan, and verify inbound and outbound shipments
Order Handling & Inventory
  • Read and interpret customer orders, shipping orders, or work requisitions
  • Accurately pick, move, and store items according to account and location
  • Record shipment information and maintain accurate documentation
Forklift Operations
  • Safely operate a forklift and other material handling equipment
  • Perform required user maintenance and inspection checks before, during, and after use
  • Cube and stack loads properly for safe transport and storage
Quality & Compliance
  • Scan outbound shipments to ensure accuracy and identify damaged items
  • Inspect outbound products for quality assurance
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area and follow all safety guidelines
Warehouse Maintenance & General Duties
  • Assist with sweeping, storing equipment, and other upkeep tasks
  • Ensure dock is cleared of freight and debris at the end of each shift
  • Report any issues to team leaders and assist as needed in warehouse operations

Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Minimum of 3 months of related warehouse or forklift experience preferred
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow written and verbal instructions
  • Basic math skills: add, subtract, multiply, divide using whole numbers and decimals
  • Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently and with a team
  • Available to work various shifts

Certifications & Requirements:
  • Valid driver's license or equivalent
  • Forklift certification (or ability to obtain)

Physical & Work Environment Requirements:
  • Ability to lift and move up to 50 lbs regularly
  • Frequent standing, walking, kneeling, reaching, and handling materials
  • Visual acuity for identifying freight and reading documents
  • Exposure to warehouse conditions, including hot, cold, and humid environments
  • PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) may be required in designated areas
