Assistant Store Manager - Greenville, SCGreenville, SC, USAJob DescriptionReports To: General ManagerDepartment: OperationsFLSA Status: ExemptPosition Purpose and ObjectivesThe Assistant Manager, Processing is responsible for overseeing the efficient flow of products from arrival at the loading dock to final placement on the retail floor. This role ensures operational standards are communicated and achieved while maintaining compliance with company policies. The Assistant Manager, Processing supervises staff, organizes and monitors workflow, upholds company standards, and spends the majority of their time focused on these tasks.Roles and ResponsibilitiesEnsures efficient product flow from dock to sales floorDevelops, monitors, and improves workflow using Critical to Quality (CTQ) metricsImplements cost reduction strategies and fosters a results-driven team cultureEnsures compliance with company policies and enforces standardsMaintains equipment using internal resources and approved vendorsHires, trains, and develops team membersProvides coaching and performance management, ensuring attainment of production standardsCreates an engaging work environment that supports both personal and professional growthConducts onboarding, orientation, and training in the ATS Way of ProcessingPartners with the General Manager to meet financial and operational goalsManages production levels, inventory quality, and pricing to optimize revenueOversees store budgets, profit and loss, and financial reportingCoordinates and ensures accuracy of cash deposits and transactionsBuilds relationships with the community to drive donations and support mission programsEnsures exceptional customer service for donors, customers, and charity partnersOversees merchandising and store presentation to enhance customer experienceMaintains a safe and clean work environmentMonitors and enforces safety, security, and compliance regulationsPartners with Asset Protection (AP) and Human Resources (HR) on investigations and personnel mattersSkills and QualificationsHigh School Diploma required; college degree preferred5-8 years of experience in a production, retail, logistics, or distribution environmentTraining in ATS processing operations, employee policies, or human relationsExperience in manufacturing, thrift, or distribution businessesPast management experience, including hiring, performance evaluations, and policy enforcementKnowledge of work standards, capacity planning, and materials planningSkills & Attributes:Strong leadership skills with a high level of energy and initiativeAbility to inspire, coach, and develop a diverse teamStrong decision-making, organizational, and problem-solving skillsData-driven approach to tracking and evaluating performanceExcellent verbal and written communication skillsHigh sense of urgency and ability to work in a fast-paced environmentProficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and basic financial reportingMust pass a background check and drug screeningMust be able to work independently and collaborativelyFrequent exposure to dust, dirt, and secondhand merchandiseSuccessful completion of background check, motor vehicle check, and drug screen.Valid driver's license and a clean driving record.PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTSAbility to stand and walk for extended periods on tile and concrete surfaces.Ability to frequently lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation.Ability to frequently bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach at or above shoulder level, balance, and climb ladders up to 14 feet in height.Ability to move throughout all areas of the store, production floor, warehouse, donation processing areas, loading docks, and outdoor workspaces.Ability to use hands and fingers for handling, grasping, feeling, and operating equipment and technology.Ability to effectively communicate in person, by telephone, and through electronic communication methods, including the ability to hear and speak clearly.Ability to visually inspect merchandise, equipment, facilities, and work areas to ensure quality, safety, and operational standards are maintained.Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with frequent interruptions and respond quickly to operational, customer service, and safety-related situations.Ability to operate standard office equipment, including computers, tablets, telephones, and printers.Ability to safely operate company vehicles and material-handling equipment, including forklifts and pallet jacks, when certified and authorized.Ability to travel between store locations, training events, and company meetings as required.Work is performed in both indoor and outdoor environments, including retail, warehouse, and donation processing areas, with exposure to varying temperatures, weather conditions, noise levels, dust, and odors.Availability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, evenings, and holidays, as business needs require.Why America's ThriftFounded in 1984, America's Thrift is more than a retail company — we are a team driven by purpose, community impact, and opportunity.
