In this challenging role, you will be supporting the DTA-Dental Assisting department at Greenville Technical College. Duties may include any or all of the following.
Individual must possess excellent organizational skills and be able to deal effectively with the public, problem solve, and communicate well both orally and in writing. Must demonstrate current proficiency with word processing and spreadsheet databases. Individual must be able to supervise and instruct students assigned for experience in dental front office - appointment scheduling, confirming appointments, money transactions, receipts, filing, patient management software, etc. Individual must posses the ability to deal with the students, faculty and public effectively. Flexibility to adapt to a changing work environment, good time-management skills, high technical proficiency, attention to detail/accuracy and a high degree of initiative in a multi-tasked role is required.
Provide advanced administrative support for the Dental Hygiene and Dental Assisting programs. Prepare or edit a variety of educational material, correspondence, forms and documents utilizing MS Word, Access, and Excel, assist in preparation of divisional and departmental reports, meet established deadlines, input faculty teaching schedules, monitor enrollment and budget using ERP, enter faculty credentials, assign student advisors, maintain records and assist in obtaining bids for purchases, and maintain student health documentation.
Facilitate and coordinate student program entry requirements (Criminal Background Checks, Drug Screen) and submit documents, updates, and OSHA training), maintain department career talk, assist with new student orientation, coordinate with marketing to keep department web pages current, assist with budget preparation, obtain office supplies and assist with inventory.
Assist with guest relations for the GTC Dental Hygiene Clinic. this will include, but is not limited to: coordinating appointment, scheduling, managing clinic phone lines and patient wait list, managing patient medical history file storage, security and archiving according to SC policies and HIPAA guidelines. Assist dental students on front desk procedures including completion and maintenance of physical and electronic patient records

Minimum qualifications: A high school diploma and work experience that is directly related to the area of employment. A bachelor's degree may be substituted for the related work experience.
Preferred qualifications: Bachelor degree with at least 1 years experience or associate degree or high school diploma with 5 years of related work experience. Prefer excellent administrative support skills and be able to interact positively with the public. Problem solve and continually learn new skills related to processes at the college.
