Under limited supervision, employs classroom management techniques that result in an atmosphere for teaching/learning in which students can know what they are expected to do. Gives instruction to the students in the areas assigned by the principal. Reports to the Principal.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree or higher in education with arts area focus preferred but not required
  • South Carolina Teacher Certification
  • Arts Infusion Training/Experience Required

Position Summary

Pine Street Elementary School is seeking an arts infusion coach to provide high-quality, instructional coaching in the area of arts infusion for teachers in grades K5. The position includes instructional, performance, leadership, and grant-related responsibilities that support arts education, arts infusion, and school-wide cultural programming. The position includes serving as the school's arts infusion coach and working closely with the District 7 District Fines Arts Director.

Primary Responsibilities - Arts Infusion & Professional Collaboration

  • Serve as the Arts Infusion Coach, designing and co-teaching integrated K5 lessons that align grade-level academic standards with visual and performing arts standards.
  • Collaborate with classroom teachers, staff, and school arts specialists to support meaningful arts infusion across content areas.
  • Schedule and facilitate monthly Arts Infusion Professional Learning Community (PLC) meetings, utilizing the expertise of the school's arts specialists, i.e., music, dance, visual arts, and drama.

Program Leadership and Grant Responsibilities

  • Serve as Writer and Project Manager for the South Carolina Department of Education Arts Curricular Innovation Grant / Distinguished Arts Program (ACIG/DAP), including all budgeting, implementation, documentation, and reporting requirements.
  • Serve as Assistant Grant Manager for the Arts in Basic Curriculum (ABC) Arts Advancement Grant, with emphasis on budgeting and reporting of funded activities.
  • In collaboration with classroom teachers and the school's arts specialists, coordinate the school's Annual Artist(s)-in-Residence Program, including selection, booking, scheduling of artists, and coordination of instructional sessions.
  • Chair the Pine Street Elementary Arts Steering Committee, convening quarterly meetings during the school year.
  • Manage South Carolina Arts Assessment Program responsibilities, including scheduling and reporting requirements.

Additional Expectations

  • Collaborate with administrators, educators, artists, and community partners to support a comprehensive arts program.
  • Participate in evening, before-school, and after-school activities as required by performance and program needs.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation related to instruction, programs, grants, and assessments.
