Payroll & Benefits Specialist (Multi-State Payroll | UKG Preferred) Location: Greenville, SC Pay: Competitive Salary + Comprehensive Benefits Schedule: Monday Friday | Full-Time | Onsite Our client is a well-established and growing organization committed to operational excellence and employee engagement. They are seeking an experienced Payroll & Benefits Specialist to serve as the subject matter expert for payroll operations while supporting the administration of a comprehensive employee benefits program. This is a direct-hire opportunity for a detail-oriented professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys partnering with employees and leadership to ensure accurate payroll processing and exceptional benefits administration.

What You Get to Do:

  • Own the end-to-end payroll process for multi-state, multi-entity operations
  • Process regular and off-cycle payroll, including deductions, garnishments, retro pay, and tax withholdings
  • Perform payroll audits, reconciliations, journal entries, and reporting
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations
  • Administer employee benefits including medical, dental, vision, 401(k), disability, life insurance, FSA/HSA, and COBRA
  • Coordinate new hire benefits orientation and annual open enrollment
  • Manage FMLA, Short-Term Disability, Long-Term Disability, ACA reporting, and 401(k) administration
  • Partner with vendors, brokers, Finance, and HR to ensure accurate payroll and benefits administration
  • Generate payroll and benefits reports while identifying opportunities for process improvements
  • Support HRIS enhancements, audits, and special projects

What You Need to Succeed:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Accounting, Business, or a related field
  • 3+ years of end-to-end payroll processing experience (multi-state preferred)
  • Experience administering employee benefits programs
  • Strong understanding of payroll laws, tax regulations, and HR compliance
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including Pivot Tables, XLOOKUP/VLOOKUP, data reconciliation, and complex formulas
  • Experience working within an HRIS/payroll system (UKG strongly preferred)
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and customer service skills
  • High level of confidentiality and attention to detail
