HVAC Technician IIPickens Maintenance & Operational Services – Pickens, South Carolina – Open in Google MapsJob DescriptionClassification Title: HVAC Technician IIDepartment: Operational ServicesPay Grade: PDays: 230 Days / 8 Hours per dayFLSA Status: Non-ExemptUnder limited supervision, performs a variety of basic maintenance and craftsman tasks in order to construct and provide safe structures and a safe environment for students and school personnel. Loads, transports, unloads, and delivers equipment, materials/supplies, and tools to District sites as needed.Cleans and maintains assigned vehicle(s), tools, and test equipment. Performs all duties in compliance with District and department policies, procedures and standards of quality and safety. Have the ability to use word processor and spreadsheet computer programs.Reports to: HVAC CoordinatorResponsibilitiesUnderstand written and oral instruction; keep routine records and make reports.Install and assemble district HVAC equipment.Apply basic principles of refrigeration.Diagnose and repair all types of HVAC equipment: compressors, motors, drives, valves, and control circuits.Diagnose and repair heating systems using various fuels: electricity, natural gas, LP, fuel oil.Ensure proper preventive maintenance and assist in preventive maintenance.Assist Electrical and plumbing trades when required.Assist the HVAC Technician II in central plant repair and maintenance.Maintain and repair digital HVAC controls: VFDs, PLCs, energy management systems.Perform hot water boiler, air‑cooled chiller, and pump maintenance and repair.Maintain at least 5 years of experience.Additional DutiesPerform all other maintenance/custodial related duties as required by the supervisor.May serve as team leader on repairs and projects.Special RequirementsHigh school diploma or equivalent, WorkKeys Gold level, college or related technical degree, and ability to work with limited supervision.Physical ability: lift heavy items up to 50 lbs unassisted; bend, stand, climb ladders, walk; work in environments with caustic chemicals, dust, noise, inclement weather.Prompt and regular attendance essential.Must be available after hours for emergency repairs as required.Must have a valid S.C. driver's license.Must hold a universal EPA refrigerant certificate.Must pass an extensive background investigation before being hired.Equal Employment OpportunityThe School District of Pickens County does not discriminate for reasons of age, race, sex, handicap, national origin, or religion in its communications with students, employees, the community, applicants for employment, events, or for access to its services.#J-18808-Ljbffr
