Technical Leader For Inspection Technologies

The Technical Leader for Inspection Technologies will be responsible for the technical leadership of a global team of Metrology and NDT inspection engineers and specialists to execute projects supporting GE Vernova organizations. The technical leader will be responsible for developing sound strategic plans to improve safety, quality, cycle, and cost to meet our obligations in customer fulfilment, outage support, TX, and NPI execution. This person will lead project management of the AMRT Inspection projects supporting GE Vernova services, outage, new unit, technology, quality, and productivity initiatives. In this role you will coordinate with the various infrastructure services teams to drive the industrialization of inspection technologies across the network of customers we support in GE Vernova. The focus of this role is to lead a technical team that identifies, develops, industrializes, and globalizes inspection technologies for the GE Vernova network. This role will affect short-term and long-term business goals.

Essential Functions

  • Lead the global industrialization of both metrology (CMM, Structured Light, etc.) and NDT (UT, ET, X-Ray, CT, MT, PT) inspection technologies, supporting multiple sites throughout the globe.
  • Provide technical guidance and leadership for both metrology and NDT engineers, or specialists throughout the execution of design, analysis, or evaluation of assigned projects using sound engineering principles and adhering to business standards, practices, procedures, and product / program requirements.
  • Support business lean initiatives through the development of standard work for knowledge transfer and project execution.
  • Recommend approaches to meet the technical and program requirements
  • Formulate strategy and implement plans to achieve business goals and directives.
  • Develop action plans to anticipate and respond to problems
  • Provide technical leadership to other personnel; mentor others in the organization
  • Assure proper documentation of technical data generated for the assigned projects and/or tasks consistent with engineering policies and procedures
  • Monitor and communicate project status, business issues, and significant developments using internal organizational tools, engineering, and customer platforms.
  • Lead or participate in organizational efforts in assigned projects and/or tasks

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree of Science in Engineering, Manufacturing, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, or Computer Science from an accredited college or university and 8 years experience in engineering, manufacturing, or development and application of inspection technologies

OR

  • Minimum of 10+ years of experience in engineering, manufacturing, or development and application of inspection technologies, in lieu of degree
  • Willingness and ability to travel both domestically and internationally ~15%

Desired Characteristics

  • Strong technical expertise and experience working with metrology (CMM, Structured Light, Blue Light, etc.) and nondestructive (UT, PT, ECI, X-Ray, CT, MT) inspection technologies
  • Master's degree or higher in Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, Business, or Computer Science from an accredited college or university.
  • Familiar with Lean principles
  • Six Sigma Green Belt / Black Belt certification or equivalent quality certification
  • Familiarity with manufacturing processes
  • Demonstrated ability to drive projects to completion
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
  • Ability to interface effectively with all levels of the organization and external customers
  • Displays strong interpersonal skills - is accessible and approachable
  • Understands business objectives and drives specific tasks required to meet the objectives
  • Understands products, capabilities and limitations in sufficient detail to be able to develop offerings that meet customer needs

This role is restricted to U.S. persons (i.e., U.S. citizens, permanent residents, and other protected individuals under the Immigration and Naturalization Act, 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3)) due to access to export-controlled technology. GE will require proof of status prior to employment

This role requires access to U.S. export-controlled information. If applicable, final offers will be contingent on ability to obtain authorization for access to U.S. export-controlled information from the U.S. Government.
