HTI is partnering with a growing manufacturer in Greenville, SC to identify a Quality Engineer who thrives on the production floor, enjoys solving complex manufacturing challenges, and is passionate about driving continuous improvement. This is not a desk-only quality role. The ideal candidate will be highly visible on the shop floor, working directly with production teams, engineering, suppliers, and customers to improve quality, reduce defects, and strengthen manufacturing processes. What We Offer Opportunity to make a direct impact on manufacturing quality and operational performance High-visibility role with exposure to leadership and cross-functional teams Collaborative environment focused on continuous improvement and problem-solving Stable, growing manufacturing organization with long-term career growth potential Competitive compensation and benefits package What You Need Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, or a related technical field preferred 2-5 years of Quality Engineering experience in a manufacturing environment Strong knowledge of quality tools and methodologies including: Root Cause Analysis (5 Why, Fishbone, 8D) SPC FMEA CAPA Control Plans Experience analyzing quality metrics, scrap, rework, and defect trends to drive improvements Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and manufacturing documentation Excellent communication and collaboration skills Preferred Experience Steel fabrication, structural steel, material handling systems, or metal manufacturing Welding processes and quality standards (AWS, AISC) Supplier quality and customer quality management Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement initiatives Six Sigma Green Belt, Black Belt, or Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) What Your Role Will Look Like Serve as a key quality resource on the manufacturing floor, partnering closely with operators, supervisors, and engineers Investigate quality issues in real time and lead root cause analysis efforts to eliminate recurring defects Develop and improve inspection plans, quality procedures, and control plans Analyze quality data and KPIs to identify trends and drive process improvements Lead corrective and preventive action activities with internal teams, suppliers, and customers Support supplier quality initiatives, incoming material validation, and supplier corrective actions Participate in customer meetings and provide technical support for quality-related concerns Conduct audits and support compliance with quality management systems Train and mentor production personnel on quality standards, inspection techniques, and best practices If you have experience in fabrication, welding, steel products, structural products, or industrial manufacturing and enjoy being a hands-on problem solver, we'd love to hear from you.
