What You'll Do:
Draw high-quality blood samples from patients across various age groups, including pediatric and geriatric populations, adhering to established safety and accuracy standards.
Prepare specimens for lab testing, ensuring proper labeling, handling, and documentation to maintain specimen integrity.
Verify patient identities through demographic checks and obtain patient signatures, ensuring compliance with protocol and accuracy.
Provide compassionate, professional care by explaining procedures clearly and building confidence with patients.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment consistent with policies and procedures.
Accurately document all activities, including specimen collection and process details, maintaining meticulous records.
Collaborate with healthcare professionals and team members to ensure efficient workflow and high-quality services.
Demonstrate leadership behaviors and process excellence while safeguarding patient confidentiality.
Required Skills:
Proven proficiency in phlebotomy, including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections.
Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively and empathetically.
Excellent attention to detail for specimen labeling, data entry, and record keeping.
Ability to operate efficiently in a high-volume setting and handle multiple priorities.
Independence and initiative to perform duties accurately with minimal supervision.
Knowledge of safety protocols, OSHA regulations, and confidentiality practices.
Flexibility to work varied shifts, including weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed.
Reliable transportation, valid driver's license, and clean driving record, if travel is required.
Nice to Have Skills:
Medical assistant or paramedic training.
Certified phlebotomist credential preferred, especially for those practicing in select states.
Experience with electronic health records (EHR) and data entry in clinical settings.
Familiarity with customer service in retail or service industries.
Preferred Education and Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent required.
1–3 years of professional phlebotomy experience, including pediatric and geriatric collections.
2+ years in a patient service environment preferred.
Other Requirements:
Valid driver's license and reliable transportation, if applicable.
Ability to work flexible hours, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Ability to travel across multiple locations with short notice.
Physical ability to stand for long periods, perform venipuncture, and handle specimen containers.
Certification in phlebotomy preferred; required in some states (e.g., California, Nevada, Washington).
