JOB DESCRIPTION

Job Title: McKinney-Vento Data & Logistics Support Clerk

Qualifications:

The person in this position should have the following credentials:

1. 1-3 years of experience in office administration, data entry, and record-keeping.

2. Applicant must be deemed "Highly Qualified," and meet one of the following criteria:
• Possess an Associate's Degree from an accredited college; or
• Have earned 60 credit hours (or the equivalent) from an accredited college; or
• Have passed a state approved test (WIN, Workkeys or Parapro by ETS) at the required levels
• Experience in using Google Workspace, Microsoft Office, and PowerSchool

Job Goal:

To provide administrative, logistical, and data-driven support to the McKinney-Vento department, ensuring the seamless delivery of services and accurate tracking of eligible students.

Reports To:

This person is directly responsible to: Director of Attendance / Social Work Services

Supports:

This position supports the McKinney-Vento Coordinator and GCS Social Workers

Key Skills & Abilities:

    • Ability to handle sensitive student data in compliance with FERPA and district privacy policies.
    • Strong organizational skills to manage complex tasks like scheduling cross-district transportation or securing emergency lodging.
    • Strong oral and written skills.
    • Must demonstrate high attention to detail in screening enrollment "flags" to ensure no eligible student is missed.
    • Ability to work internally with district staff and vendors rather than engaging in direct case management with families.

    Responsibilities:

    • Regularly review online school registrations and enrollment documents to identify family responses that indicate potential McKinney-Vento eligibility.
    • Maintain and update a district database of McKinney-Vento students, ensuring records are accurate for federal and state reporting.
    • Schedule and manage specialized transportation requests, including cab transports and district busing for students in transition.
    • Facilitate the securing of hotel rooms and temporary shelter for families identified by social workers as in need of immediate housing.
    • Manage shopping and inventory for essential items (uniforms, shoes, etc.) for students and prepare them for delivery by social workers.
    • Perform specialized clerical tasks as requested by McKinney Vento Coordinator to remove barriers to student education without direct family intervention.
    • Other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

    Terms of Employment:

    10 month position (200 days) This position is a grant funded position for 1 year.
