Job Description Job Description We are seeking a skilled and motivated Maintenance Technician to support manufacturing operations. In this role, you will be responsible for the preventive and corrective maintenance of production equipment, facility systems, and utilities to ensure maximum uptime and operational efficiency. This position will begin on 1st shift for training and onboarding, then transition to 2nd shift upon successful completion of the training period. Candidates with 2–4 years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment are strongly encouraged to apply.Shift StructureTraining Period: 1st Shift (approximately 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM) for the first 60–90 days to complete onboarding, equipment familiarization, and facility orientation.Ongoing Assignment: 2nd Shift (approximately 2:00 PM – 10:30 PM) upon successful completion of training. Exact shift times may vary based on production schedules.Key ResponsibilitiesPreventive Maintenance• Perform scheduled preventive maintenance (PM) on production equipment, conveyors, mixers, fillers, packaging lines, and facility systems• Maintain accurate PM records, work orders, and maintenance logs using CMMS or paper-based systems• Inspect equipment for signs of wear, leaks, or potential failure and proactively address issues before they impact production• Lubricate, adjust, calibrate, and replace components per manufacturer specifications and PM schedulesCorrective & Emergency Maintenance• Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic failures on production and facility equipment• Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns to minimize production downtime• Troubleshoot PLCs, control panels, sensors, and conveyor drive systems• Perform electrical work including panel wiring, motor replacements, and conduit installation (low voltage)• Rebuild and repair pumps, gearboxes, conveyors, and other mechanical assembliesFood Safety & Sanitation Compliance• Perform all maintenance activities in compliance with GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) and food safety standards• Use food-grade lubricants and approved materials on all equipment that contacts or is near food or beverage products• Ensure equipment is properly cleaned, sanitized, and inspected following maintenance work before returning to production• Support sanitation and CIP (Clean-In-Place) system maintenance as needed• Comply with all SQF, HACCP, FDA, and facility food safety protocolsFacility & Utilities• Maintain facility systems including compressed air, HVAC, refrigeration, boilers, and water treatment equipment• Perform building maintenance including lighting, plumbing repairs, doors, and dock equipment• Monitor and respond to facility utility alarms and issues during assigned shiftSafety & Documentation• Follow all OSHA, LOTO (Lockout/Tagout), confined space, and facility safety procedures at all times• Wear appropriate PPE and enforce safety standards in the maintenance area• Complete work orders, parts requests, and maintenance documentation accurately and on time• Communicate shift handoff notes clearly to incoming technicians and supervisors• Participate in safety meetings, training, and continuous improvement initiativesQualificationsRequired• High school diploma or GED equivalent; technical/vocational training in a related field preferred• 2–4 years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing, food & beverage, or industrial environment• Working knowledge of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems• Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment (multimeter, etc.)• Familiarity with LOTO/LOTO procedures and OSHA safety standards• Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, schematics, and equipment manuals• Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and lift up to 50 lbs repeatedly throughout the shift• Willingness to train on 1st shift and transition to 2nd shift upon completion of training• Reliable, self-motivated, and able to work independently with minimal supervisionPreferred• Experience in a food or beverage manufacturing environment• Familiarity with GMP, HACCP, SQF, or other food safety frameworks• PLC troubleshooting experience (Allen Bradley, Siemens, or similar)• Welding or fabrication skills (MIG/TIG)• Experience with CMMS software for work order management• EPA 608 certification or refrigeration experience a plusWork Environment & Physical DemandsThis position works in an active food and beverage manufacturing facility. The environment may include exposure to cold temperatures, wet/slippery floors, loud machinery, and food-grade chemicals. The role requires prolonged standing, walking, climbing ladders, working in tight or confined spaces, and repeatedly lifting up to 50 lbs throughout the shift. PPE is required in designated areas.
