Job Description Job Description Southern Trail Animal Clinic in Easley, SC is looking for one veterinary assistant to join our 12 person strong team. We are located on 210 Fern St Suite J. Our ideal candidate is attentive, punctual, and hard-working.ABOUT THE POSITIONThe veterinary assistant is responsible for performing tasks, assisting co-workers in generalduties and patient care. Patient care in regards to husbandry, nursing care, diagnostics,patient procedures, pharmacy, & patient restraint should be maintained. The veterinaryassistant will have team communication skills, along with continuing any tasks to assisttechnicians, veterinarians, receptionist, and other staff.EDUCATION & QUALIFICATIONSHigh school diploma or GED is required.Basic employee professionalism: time management, accountability & adaptabilityComputer & Software skills required: Microsoft Applications, E-mail, PIMS, and othersoftware programs.1-2 years of veterinary clinic/patient care experience required.Patient Care BasicsCommunication & listening skillsInquisitive, asks questions, seeks learning opportunitiesMaintaining a calm demeanor and the ability to handle conflicts and difficult situations.Possesses a team-oriented, positive attitude.DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIESDemonstrate excellent customer/client service at all times.Adheres to all safety protocols (OSHA)Address client concerns and complaints professionally.Maintain compassion, empathy, & understandingPatient restraint and basic patient care duties: walking, bathing, patient care logs.Assisting veterinarians and/or technicians in daily duties.Radiographs, diagnostic lab setup, maintaining clinic logs.Understand all clinic policies.Cleaning/janitorial actions for entire clinic, including employee bathroom & breakroomKennels, walking yard, exam rooms, treatment, etc.Restocking supplies and maintaining organization: clean work environment.Surgical Prep: Surgery Instrument cleaning and packing.Perform any other duties necessary in relation to the success of the clinic.Cross-training: receptionistBy applying to this job, you agree to receive periodic text messages from this employer and Homebase about your pending job application.
