Description:

MetroConnects (Metro) is a special-purpose district governed by a seven-member Commission that operates and maintains approximately 1,600 miles of sanitary sewer mains within Greenville County in South Carolina. Metro is seeking a successful, customer-focused candidate to join our team as a full-time bilingual (Spanish/English) Customer Service Representative.

This position, under direct supervision of the Customer Service Manager, performs a variety of clerical and financial-related duties, and professionally interacts with customers on a variety of issues.

Responsibilities

  • Greets visitors and guests.
  • Answers telephone, screens, and forwards calls to the appropriate departments.
  • Communicates professionally and effectively with individuals and groups such as customers, managers, local agencies, other departmental personnel, local builders and developers, etc.
  • Performs general administrative/clerical work as required, including but not limited to typing forms, records, and reports; data entry; copying and filing documents; communicating with field personnel; compiling information for specific work orders/projects as requested, faxing/mailing information, etc.
  • Processes various customer transactions, issues sewer permits, and collects fees.
  • Utilize the Internet and other search programs to obtain information related to customer issues and needs.

Minimum Qualifications

  • High School diploma or associates degree and two years of customer service experience.
  • Must be bilingual in both English and Spanish.
  • Ability to follow oral and written directions and strong organizational skills.

Compensation

Salary is negotiable based on experience. Metro offers a competitive benefits package, including South Carolina Retirement and comprehensive health insurance. No relocation assistance is provided. A background check and drug screening are a condition of employment. Metro also conducts random drug screening during employment.
