Account Manager, Specialty Foam - Remote (must reside in Dallas/Houston) Location: Dallas, Texas and Houston, Texas (Remote with remote/field based; extensive travel throughout territory)Requisition ID: 54020The Account Manager, Specialty Foam is an outside sales role responsible for driving sales of polyethylene extruded closed cell plank foam and related services within an assigned multi-state territory. The role focuses on selling to fabricators who convert foam into protective packaging solutions for end markets such as automotive, military, electronics, and others.This position manages a defined geographic territory as a standalone business, developing growth opportunities with existing customers while identifying and qualifying new accounts. The Account Manager works closely with internal teams—including customer service, engineering, procurement, production, and shipping—to ensure accurate pricing, timely delivery, and strong customer satisfaction.The position is remote and field based, with extensive travel throughout the territory.Territory: Alabama, Mississippi, Arkansas, Oklahoma, Louisiana, Georgia, Tennessee, Florida, South Carolina, and TexasResponsibilities:Use direct sales techniques to build and grow sales within an assigned geographic territoryManage and grow relationships with existing customers who purchase large volumes of foam, often truckload quantitiesIdentify, qualify, and develop new business opportunities aligned with territory growth goalsContact regular and prospective customers to demonstrate, explain, and recommend products and servicesConduct sales presentations and provide product education, technical information, and samplesAnswer customer questions related to products, pricing, availability, applications, and credit termsMonitor customer preferences and buying behavior to adjust sales focus and territory strategyWork closely with Customer Service and Portfolio teams to prepare and approve customer quotesConsult with customers after sales or contract execution to resolve issues and provide ongoing supportIdentify prospective customers through referrals, business directories, industry organizations, and trade showsCollect and analyze customer data to identify market opportunities and factors influencing demandMaintain and manage a sales pipeline across the territoryPrepare sales reports, maintain customer records, and submit expense reportsDocument customer interactions, orders, inquiries, complaints, and follow up actionsIdentify complex issues and coordinate internal resources to develop and implement effective solutionsCommunicate regularly with cross functional teams and coordinate activities to support customer needsOvernight travel required approximately 60% of the timeQualifications:Bachelor's degree from a four year college or university, or three to five years of related sales experience, preferably in industrial manufacturing, plastics, or packaging materials, or an equivalent combination of education and experienceExperience selling within industrial or manufacturing environments preferredPlastics experience is preferredPackaging experience helpful but not requiredExperience managing large accounts with high dollar volume preferredStrong working knowledge of sales techniques, product presentation, and territory managementAbility to assess customer needs and deliver solutions that support long term account growthStrong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneouslyIntermediate computer skills including email, CRM or database tools, word processing, and spreadsheetsAbility to work effectively in a team based, cross functional environmentStrong communication skills and a professional, customer focused approachHigh level of reliability, accountability, and attention to detailTotal Target Compensation (Base + Commission): $103,600 - $166,750The range disclosed complies with applicable state and local pay transparency laws. Offers within this range will be determined by considering relevant factors including education, experience, and internal alignment. This position may also be eligible for annual performance bonuses and other incentive programs.
