In this role, you will collaborate directly with General Counsel and leadership to navigate complex regulatory landscapes, influence key decisions, and ensure the company operates with integrity across every touchpoint.

You will have primary responsibility for one or more of the below activities and provide backup support for others:
- Serve as a trusted advisor on federal and state consumer finance laws, including lending, disclosures, servicing, collections, and fair lending
- Lead responses to regulatory inquiries, examinations, and agency communications (including the CFPB)
- Investigate and resolve escalated customer complaints with legal and compliance implications
- Help drive compliance with data privacy and data security regulations
- Review and strengthen company policies, procedures, and internal controls
- Collaborate cross‑functionally with Customer Relations, Marketing, Operations, and external counsel
- Review and approve marketing materials, training content, and customer communications for compliance
- Consistent and reliable attendance is expected
What You Need to Succeed
- Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school (South Carolina preferred)
- 3+ years of legal experience (law firm, in‑house, or government), ideally in financial services or a regulated environment
- Strong knowledge of consumer laws such as FCRA and TCPA, and related regulations
- Ability to translate complex legal requirements into practical business guidance
- Excellent writing, analytical, and communication skills
- Detail‑oriented with strong follow‑through and sound judgement
- Comfortable working cross‑functionally with diverse teams and stakeholders
- Tech‑savvy with Microsoft Office; experience with Westlaw or LexisNexis preferred
- Spanish language skills are a plus
