Position Overview

Manager, Manufacturing Engineering

What You Will Do

  • Oversee the development,implementation, and optimization of manufacturing processes to meet production goals, quality standards, and cost objectives
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity, reduce waste, and improve product quality, ensuring alignment with AS9100 requirements
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including design engineering, quality, and operations, to support new product introductions and resolve manufacturing challenges
  • Guide innovation efforts for manufacturing capabilities by contributing to and executing elements of our innovation roadmap, ensuring alignment with strategic goals
  • Play a key role in our NADCAP accreditation efforts, ensuring special processes meet the rigorous requirements for certification
  • Manage the production maintenance team to ensure equipment reliability and minimize downtime
  • Mentor and develop team members to build technical expertise and leadership capabilities
  • Ensure compliance with all safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and prepare reports to communicate progress and identify areas for improvement

  • Formal training in CORE (Customer Oriented Results & Excellence), RTX's operating system designed to drive continuous improvement and enhance operational performance
  • Best practices for maintaining compliance with AS9100 standards and achieving NADCAP accreditation

Qualifications You Must Have

  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 8 years of prior relevant experience, or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years of experience
  • Experience in manufacturing processes, lean principles, and continuous improvement methodologies
  • Experience in leading teams, including engineers, technicians, and maintenance personnel
  • Experience in Quality Management Systems (QMS) and compliance with AS9100 standards or equivalent

Qualifications We Prefer

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Industrial and Manufacturing Systems Engineering, or Business Administration
  • Experience in manufacturing engineering or operations, with at least 3 years in a leadership role
  • Experience in manufacturing software and tools
  • Experience in the aerospace or defense industry
  • Experience with NADCAP accreditation or special process compliance
  • Excellent problem‑solving, communication, and organizational skills
