This is an exempt position.Time Off Plan: 25 days of PTO. Additional Time Off: MLK Day, Presidents' Day, Spring Break, Memorial Day, Week of July 4th, Labor Day, Thanksgiving (Wed-Fri), Winter Break (Dec. 24-Jan. 1).This position directs and coordinates educational, administrative, and special education activities of students by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate leads.Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential duties.Ensures conformance of educational programs to state and local school board standards through evaluation, development and coordination activities; As needed, researches and implements non-K12 curriculum resources that meet state standards;Helps articulate the school's mission and vision with the aim of ensuring all stakeholders have a common understanding and are positioned to work cooperatively in order to achieve desired results; Utilizes/relies heavily upon communication technologies and practices that most effectively support a predominantly virtual / remote work environment;Ensures that the school is meeting the needs of students while complying with local, state, and federal laws regarding special education and other categorical programs (such as Title I, LAP, CTE);Oversees the school's special education department in order to ensure compliance with federal, state, and school laws, regulations, policies and procedures.Collaborates with special programs leadership and special education teachers regarding the eligibility and compliance processes;Responds to inquiries from parents and school systems in a timely manner;Works collaboratively with others to achieve special education performance and compliance goals; Serves as a liaison between parents, teachers and lead teachers;Manages the enrollment process so that all newly enrolled students have records for 5 and 30 day enrollment meetings;Maintains a system of compliance to ensure that Enrich is reporting accurate dates to the state and all active student files are complete;Work with Testing Coordinator to ensure special programs students are provided with appropriate accommodations for standardized testingWork closely with RTI Coordinator and Special Programs Manager on Child Find queries and evaluationsSupervises and evaluates teaching staff; Manages teacher performance, developing and providing necessary training to support their professional development; Manages Master and Lead Teachers and programs;Confers with teachers, students, and parents concerning educational and behavioral problems in schoolRequired Education And ExperienceBachelor's degreeValid South Carolina teaching certification in special educationPrevious Leadership/ Supervisory ExperienceFive (5) years of educational experience OREquivalent combination of education and experienceDemonstrable leadership, organizational and time management skillsStrong written and verbal communication skillsAbility to embrace change and adapt to ensure excellent student outcomesAbility to problem solve independently and have a high level of organizationUnderstanding of interdependency of deadlines on multiple projects and able to act to preserve integrity on other people's deadlinesAbility to work independently, typically 40+ hours per weekAbility to maintain a professional home office without distraction during workday, typically 8-4 or as defined by the schoolAbility to travel as required (on average once per month and/or approximately 20% of the time) for face to face professional development, student testing, and as required by schoolAccess to reliable high-speed internetMicrosoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, Visio, etc.); Web proficiency.Ability to clear required background checkPreferred Education And/or ExperiencePrevious experience as an online EducatorPrevious administrative experienceSupervisory ResponsibilitiesThis position has 1-4 direct reports and 5-20 indirect reports.
