This role exists to support increasing production demand and ongoing investment in advanced manufacturing capabilities.
At
WAI Global , this position plays a critical role in producing high-precision components for the global aftermarket across automotive, industrial, and equipment sectors—ensuring quality, efficiency, and consistency at scale.
The Work You'll Be Doing
In this role, you will:
Set up and operate CNC and laser cutting machines (fiber and CO2)
Interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and CAD files
Load, run, and edit CNC programs at the machine as needed
Optimize cutting parameters based on material type and thickness
Design and fabricate custom fixtures, jigs, and holding tools
Perform first-article and in-process inspections
Troubleshoot machining and cutting issues to maintain quality
Maintain machines and ensure safe, efficient operation
Collaborate with engineering, quality, and production teams
Support automation initiatives, including robotic integration (when applicable)
Machines, Controls & Software
You'll work with equipment such as:
CNC machines, Fiber laser cutters, CO2 laser cutting systems
G-code-based CNC controls
CAD/CAM Software:
Fusion 360, Mastercam, AutoCAD, SolidWorks
Robotics (Preferred):
FANUC, ABB, KUKA
Calipers, micrometers, gauges
Materials You'll Work With
Aluminum
Mild / Alloy Steel
Stainless Steel
Other metals (based on production requirements)
What We're Looking For
3+ years of CNC machining and laser cutting experience
Strong experience with machine setup, operation, and programming
Proficiency in CAD/CAM software and G-code programming
Ability to read blueprints and understand tolerances
Experience designing and fabricating tooling and fixtures
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
Reliable, safety-focused, and team-oriented
Preferred (Not Required):
Experience with robotic programming and integration
Exposure to FANUC, ABB, or KUKA systems
Experience in automation or process improvement initiatives
