Lab Engineer

Work with a global automotive supplier with over 100 manufacturing facilities throughout US, Canada and Mexico, located in Spartanburg, SC. With a plant expansion nearly tripling its current size, we are looking for a Lab Engineer to support the growing team. The ideal candidate would have at least 3 years experience in automotive Quality, preferably with experience auditing and CMM reporting and must be able to read drawings.

Tasks:

• Perform daily quality tasks according to Quality checklists
• Create, modify and run CMM-programs (Polyworks / Creaform system).
• Implement regular inspections, gauge repeatability and reproducibility studies for PPAP launch requirements.
• Perform R&R studies, conduct analysis and technical problem solving together with all departments and customers.
• Ensure all measuring tools are maintained and receive required verification in accordance to IATF16949.
• Gather data according to the ISO/IATF16949 systems and organizational standards.
• Ensure that all equipment is logged and stored conforming to procedures for measuring equipment.
• Perform/Organize Product audits, requalification test and product tests
• Cooperate cross-functionality with various departments, particularly Production
• Screen and interpret automotive Blueprints / CAD Drawings and engineering specifications
• Play an active part in continuous improvement activities
• Create and maintain a safe and healthful work environment
• Responsible for 5S within the plant and daily housekeeping
• Perform other duties as assigned in order to meet the needs of the Company

Requirements:

• Min. 3 years Experience working in a Quality department
• Experience in the Automotive industry
• Knowledge of Creaform/Polyworks
• Ability to read drawings
• Experience with CMM and auditing
• The ability to interact well with others in a selfless manner.
