Plant Controller

Our client is a multi billion international automotive supplier that has an immediate need at their Spartanburg plant for a Plant Controller. This is a 600 person plant-Automotive background is highly preferred. Would prefer the person be able to speak Spanish and English but is not mandatory. The Plant Controller is a financial leadership role within a manufacturing facility, responsible for overseeing all aspects of plant-level accounting, budgeting, financial reporting, cost analysis, and ensuring compliance with company policies and regulations, while collaborating with plant management to optimize operations and drive profitability. Key responsibilities of a Plant Controller include:

  • Financial Reporting: Preparing and analyzing comprehensive financial statements for the plant, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements, to monitor performance against budget and identify areas for improvement.
  • Budgeting and Forecasting: Developing and managing the plant's annual budget, forecasting future financial performance, and providing regular updates to plant leadership.
  • Cost Analysis: Analyzing production costs, material consumption, labor expenses, and overhead to identify cost-saving opportunities and improve operational efficiency.
  • Inventory Management: Monitoring inventory levels of raw materials, work-in-progress, and finished goods to ensure accuracy and prevent stockouts or excess inventory.
  • Internal Controls: Implementing and maintaining robust internal controls to safeguard assets and ensure compliance with accounting standards (GAAP).
  • Compliance: Ensuring adherence to all applicable local, state, and federal regulations regarding financial reporting and tax compliance.
  • Audit Support: Collaborating with internal and external auditors to facilitate smooth audit processes.
  • Team Leadership: Leading and supervising a team of accounting professionals within the plant, including payroll and accounts payable/receivable functions.
  • Business Partnering: Actively collaborating with plant managers to provide financial insights and recommendations to support strategic decision-making.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Proven experience in manufacturing accounting and cost analysis
  • Expertise in financial reporting and budgeting
  • Excellent communication skills
