We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer, Backend to design and scale the APIs and systems that power Foley's partner ecosystem. You will build reliable, secure, and scalable integrations while helping evolve our platform, infrastructure, and engineering practices. You might thrive in thisrole if you bring a strong foundation in backend engineering and enjoy building systems that scale across teams and partners.What you'll do API & System Design Design and build scalable APIs and integration workflows that power partner-facing productsDevelop secure, reliable distributed systems with a focus on performance and resiliencePlatform & Infrastructure Contribute to our MuleSoft-based API platform and cloud infrastructure (AWS, Kubernetes, Docker)Improve system scalability, observability, and fault tolerance across servicesEngineering Excellence Enhance CI/CD pipelines and DevOps workflows to increase speed and reliabilityWrite clean, testable code and contribute to best practices in system design and architectureCollaboration & Impact Partner with product, engineering, and external teams to deliver high-impact integrationsSupport partner onboarding through stable, well-documented APIs and developer-friendly experiencesWho you are Experience building APIs and distributed systems, with strong understanding of integration patternsProficiency in C#, .NET, Java, or similar backend technologiesSolid system design fundamentals (scalability, fault tolerance, messaging, reliability)Experience working with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure)Hands-on experience with containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes, or similar)Experience with CI/CD pipelines, Git workflows, and automated testingNice-to-haves Experience with microservices architectureFamiliarity with observability and monitoring tools (e.g., Datadog, Prometheus)Experience building or supporting external-facing APIs or SaaS platformsLocation: This role is primarily remote (U.S.-based), with the expectation of occasional visits to our offices for team collaboration, training, or company events.This role may be based remotely out of the following states: Arizona, California, Colorado, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Nebraska, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia, Wisconsin.About us At Foley, we're reimagining how safety-sensitive industries hire, stay compliant, and manage risk.
