Job Title: Senior Loan Specialist

Position Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and customer-focused Senior Loan Specialist to support the end-to-end loanpreparation process. This role is responsible for ensuring loan files are complete, accurate, and compliant prior to submission for closing.
The ideal candidate brings a strong understanding of loan documentation, regulatory compliance, and customer communication, along with the ability to proactively manage multiple files and timelines. This position plays a critical role in delivering a smooth, efficient closing experience while maintaining high quality and compliance standards.
Key Responsibilities
Loan File Management and Coordination
* Serve as the primary point of contact for borrowers and key stakeholders throughout the loan process
* Communicate clearly with borrowers, lenders, franchisors, contractors, insurance agents, and internal teams to gather required documentation
* Provide timely updates and guidance to ensure loan milestones and deadlines are met
Documentation Review and Compliance
* Review loan applications, entity documentation, appraisals, escrow and title documents for accuracy and completeness
* Ensure all files meet internal policies, SBA SOP 50 10 guidelines, and regulatory requirements
* Identify discrepancies or missing documentation and take immediate corrective action
Loan Package Preparation
* Assemble and organize complete loan files for submission to the closing officer
* Confirm all underwriting conditions have been satisfied prior to approval
* Maintain high standards of quality to support efficient funding timelines
Tracking and Reporting
* Maintain accurate records of loan status within internal systems
* Document all communications, updates, and outstanding conditions
* Generate reports and provide visibility into pipeline status, risks, and bottlenecks
Issue Resolution and Risk Management
* Proactively identify potential compliance or documentation issues
* Escalate concerns appropriately to underwriters or leadership to avoid delays
* Ensure all risks are addressed prior to closing
Process Improvement and Leadership Support
* Recommend workflow enhancements and documentation standardization
* Support training initiatives and knowledge sharing across the team
* Mentor junior Loan Specialists and provide day-to-day guidance as needed
* Assist with workflow oversight, quality reviews, and team support functions
Qualifications
Required:
* Proven experience in loan processing, loan coordination, or lending operations
* Strong knowledge of loan documentation, compliance standards, and regulatory requirements
* Experience working with SBA loans and familiarity with SBA SOP 50 10 highly preferred
* Excellent verbal communication skills, with the ability to guide and influence borrowers
* Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
* Ability to manage multiple loan files in a deadline-driven environment
* Proficiency in loan systems and Microsoft Office tools
Preferred:
* Experience mentoring or supporting junior team members
* Background in banking, lending, or financial services environments
* Strong problem-solving mindset with a proactive approach to issue resolution
