Isuzu North America is seeking a driven and experienced Kitting Production Supervisor to help launch operation initiatives at our new state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in Greenville County, South Carolina.

About the Facility:

Isuzu North America Corporation is investing approximately $280 million to establish a new production facility in Greenville County, South Carolina. This 1 million-square-foot, state-of-the-art plant—set on over 200 acres—will feature a flexible production line capable of manufacturing both internal combustion and electric vehicles. Production will include the N-Series Gas, N-Series Electric, and F-Series Diesel trucks. Operations are expected to launch in 2027, with expansion slated for 2028. Strategically located near I-85, I-26, and the Port of Charleston, the site supports streamlined logistics and consolidated operations under one roof. This initiative is projected to create over 700 new jobs in the area.

Job Summary:

The Production Kitting Supervisor is responsible for overseeing kitting activity and material flow preparation activities to ensure accurate, timely delivery of parts to the production line. This role supports uninterrupted assembly operations by managing kitting processes, inventory accuracy, and team performance in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

The position focuses on execution, coordination, and continuous improvement of material staging and line-side readiness while supporting production demands and maintaining operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise daily kitting operations to ensure all materials are picked, staged, and physically ready at the line to support production
  • Ensure kits are complete, accurate, and properly sequenced to match production requirements and prevent line disruptions
  • Monitor material availability and proactively address shortages before they impact the line
  • Work directly with external logistics, assembly, production control and production teams to resolve issues in real time
  • Maintain accurate inventory through cycle counts, system transactions, and disciplined material control processes
  • Investigate and correct inventory discrepancies to ensure system accuracy supports operations
  • Ensure proper material handling, labeling, and traceability to maintain quality and compliance standards
  • Lead and support kitting associates on the floor, ensuring safety, quality, and productivity expectations are met
  • Manage employee time, attendance, and daily staffing to support production needs
  • Provide coaching, performance feedback, and corrective action as needed to maintain team performance
  • Balance workload and adjust priorities based on production demand and changing conditions
  • Escalate issues quickly when material, quality, or delivery risks could impact production
  • Support production start-ups, ramp-ups, and changes in demand or model mix to ensure material readiness
  • Identify and implement process improvements to reduce errors, improve flow, and increase efficiency
  • Promote and enforce 5S, standard work, and lean material handling practices
  • Use ERP/WMS systems (SAP preferred) to track inventory, material movement, and kitting status
  • Monitor key metrics such as kitting accuracy, shortages, and inventory accuracy
  • Provide daily updates on material readiness and any risks to production
  • Perform other duties as needed to support production and operational goals

Required Education, Knowledge and Abilities:

  • High school diploma or GED required; associate or bachelor's degree in supply chain, logistics, or related field preferred
  • Minimum 3–5 years of experience in manufacturing, logistics, materials, or warehouse operations
  • Experience in kitting, material handling, or line-side support required
  • Prior supervisory or team lead experience required
  • Experience working in fast-paced production environments
  • Experience with ERP or WMS systems (SAP preferred)

Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:

  • Strong understanding of material flow, kitting processes, and inventory control practices
  • Strong leadership and communication skills to manage and develop team members
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple demands in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong problem-solving and root cause analysis skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and inventory systems
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles (5S, standard work, Kaizen)
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
