Overview

The Squires Group is seeking an experienced Oracle Functional Consultant with strong expertise in Oracle General Ledger (GL) and Oracle Accounting Hub to support a federal financial management environment in Washington, DC. This role will provide functional leadership and hands-on support for core accounting processes within Oracle Federal Financials, ensuring accurate financial transaction processing, reporting, and compliance.

The ideal candidate will bring a solid background in federal accounting operations, Oracle financial module configuration, and collaboration with both technical teams and business stakeholders. This is a hybrid position based in Washington, DC. The role will initially require onsite support approximately 3-4 days per week, with the expectation that onsite presence may decrease over time as the project matures.

Per contract requirements, candidates must be U.S. Citizens or Green Card Holders and be able to pass the client's background check.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a functional subject matter expert for Oracle General Ledger and Oracle Accounting Hub
  • Support configuration and functional oversight of Oracle Federal Financials
  • Assist with federal accounting processes, transaction processing, and financial reporting
  • Gather and document business requirements and translate them into Oracle functional solutions
  • Support functional testing, user acceptance testing (UAT), and issue resolution
  • Collaborate with technical teams, business users, and project leadership
  • Support data validation, reconciliations, and audit readiness activities
  • Develop and maintain functional documentation and provide end-user support as needed
Qualifications
  • Hands-on functional experience with Oracle Federal Financials
  • Proven expertise in Oracle GL and Oracle Accounting Hub
  • Experience supporting federal accounting and financial transaction processing
  • Strong analytical, documentation, and communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a hybrid, on-site federal environment
Preferred Qualifications
  • Prior experience supporting large federal financial system implementations
  • Experience with functional testing, UAT coordination, or post-production support
  • Familiarity with federal financial regulations and reporting requirements
