What We're Looking For:
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Proven experience operating fork trucks in industrial, manufacturing, warehouse, construction, or heavy equipment environments
  • Experience safely handling heavy loads up to approximately 15,000 pounds
  • Experience transporting oversized, sensitive, or high-value components
  • Strong knowledge of fork truck load capacity, load center principles, stability, and safe material handling practices
  • Ability to assess load characteristics and determine safe fork placement, travel routes, and staging locations
  • Ability to read load information, shipping documentation, work instructions, or layout drawings
  • Familiarity with standard hand signals and radio communication protocols
  • Strong commitment to workplace safety, product protection, and procedural compliance
  • Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented industrial environment
  • Valid fork truck certification or documented powered industrial truck training

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience handling large industrial machinery parts or precision components
  • Experience supporting machinery installation, millwright work, or maintenance activities
  • Experience working with riggers, cranes, or coordinated heavy equipment moves
  • OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification
  • Experience operating additional mobile equipment such as overhead cranes or aerial lifts

What You'll Do as an Industrial Fork Truck Operator:
  • Operate fork trucks and other powered industrial equipment to lift, transport, stage, load, unload, and position heavy machinery parts and components
  • Safely handle loads up to approximately 15,000 pounds, including oversized and high-value components
  • Transport parts valued up to $1 million with a strong focus on safety and damage prevention
  • Evaluate load weight, dimensions, center of gravity, fork placement, and travel path prior to movement
  • Coordinate with supervisors, riggers, spotters, and production teams to ensure safe and efficient material handling
  • Conduct pre-move hazard assessments, including identifying obstructions, traffic, and surface conditions
  • Perform pre-operation inspections of fork trucks and related equipment
  • Ensure all equipment is used within rated capacity and operating limits
  • Use proper load securement, fork positioning, and travel techniques to maintain load stability
  • Assist with precise placement of machinery components in staging, production, or installation areas
  • Support loading and unloading operations for inbound and outbound shipments
  • Maintain awareness of surroundings, including personnel, equipment, and changing site conditions
  • Follow operating procedures, safety protocols, and communication standards
  • Report equipment issues, safety concerns, or product damage immediately
  • Maintain documentation, inspection checklists, and movement records
  • Participate in safety meetings, job hazard analyses, and operational planning sessions
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to stand, walk, climb, bend, and work for extended periods
  • Ability to enter and exit fork trucks frequently throughout the shift
  • Ability to work safely in congested industrial environments
  • Ability to lift and carry tools or equipment within defined limits
  • Sufficient vision, depth perception, and coordination to operate equipment safely
  • Ability to work in indoor and outdoor conditions
Work Environment:
  • Industrial plants, manufacturing facilities, warehouses, and construction or staging sites
  • Exposure to noise, dust, vibration, and moving equipment
  • May require overtime, weekends, or occasional travel based on operational needs
