MECHANICAL PROJECT MANAGER

Location: Piedmont, SC

Reports to: VP Construction

Compensation: $120K - $150K

We are a growing mechanical contractor delivering complex HVAC and building systems across commercial, industrial, healthcare, and mission-critical environments. With a strong project pipeline and a focus on quality execution, our team partners closely with clients and general contractors to deliver high-performing systems from concept through completion. Your Role:

As a Mechanical Project Manager, you will lead projects from award through closeout, owning budgets, schedules, subcontractors, and client relationships. You will play a key role in ensuring successful project execution while managing financial performance and maintaining strong communication across internal teams and external partners. This position offers the opportunity to work on a diverse portfolio of projects while having direct visibility with leadership and impact on overall business performance.

What You'll Do:

  • Manage all aspects of HVAC/mechanical projects including scope, schedule, budget, and quality
  • Own project financials including job costing, WIP reporting, and cost-to-complete forecasting
  • Coordinate with general contractors, subcontractors, and internal teams to drive project execution
  • Lead project meetings, manage RFIs, submittals, and change orders
  • Oversee procurement, vendor coordination, and subcontractor performance
  • Partner with field teams on installation planning, manpower, and sequencing
  • Maintain strong client relationships to support repeat business and long-term partnerships
  • Ensure compliance with contract documents, codes, and safety standard

What You'll Bring:

  • 5+ years of project management experience within commercial or industrial HVAC/mechanical construction
  • Experience managing projects valued at $1M - $10M +
  • Strong understanding of HVAC systems including ductwork, piping, chillers, air handling units, and controls
  • Proven ability to manage project financials including forecasting and cost tracking
  • Strong communication skills and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Experience with design-build or design-assist project delivery preferred
  • Background in industrial or manufacturing environments preferred
  • Exposure to healthcare or data center projects preferred
  • Familiarity with tools such as Procore, Bluebeam, MS Project, or BIM/Revit preferred
  • Experience with construction ERP systems (e.g., Vista or similar) preferred
