Position Summary

BMarko is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced AWS Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) to ensure welding operations meet applicable codes, standards, and project specifications. The CWI will be responsible for inspecting welded assemblies, verifying welder qualifications, reviewing welding procedures, and supporting BMarko's commitment to quality, safety, and compliance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform visual and dimensional inspections of welded joints and fabricated components in accordance with AWS D1.1ASME, and other applicable codes and customer specifications.
  • Verify compliance with approved Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS) and Procedure Qualification Records (PQR)
  • Confirm welder and welding operator qualifications and maintain related documentation.
  • Identify, document, and report non-conformances; work with production and engineering teams on corrective actions.
  • Review fabrication drawings, blueprints, and welding symbols for accuracy and constructability.
  • Maintain accurate inspection reports, logs, and quality records in accordance with company and project requirements.
  • Support internal and external audits, customer inspections, and regulatory reviews.
  • Promote and enforce safety, quality, and workmanship standards across all welding operations.

Required Qualifications

  • Active AWS Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) certification.
  • Minimum 3–5 years of welding inspection experience in a fabrication, construction, or industrial environment.
  • Strong knowledge of welding processes (SMAW, GMAW, FCAW, GTAW) and materials (carbon steel, stainless steel, etc.).
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering drawings, specifications, and welding symbols.
  • Familiarity with applicable welding codes and standards (AWS, ASME, API as applicable).
  • Strong documentation, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working in structural steel and heavy fabrication environments.
  • Additional certifications (e.g., NDT Level II, API 1104, ASME Section IX).
  • Experience supporting customer or third-party inspections.

Physical & Work Requirements

  • Ability to work in shop, field, or construction site environments.
  • Ability to stand, walk, climb, and work in varying conditions for extended periods.
  • Occasional travel to job sites or customer locations as required.
