Location: Flexible (Preference for Greenville, SC; also open to Atlanta, GA or Charlotte, NC)
Pay:
• Greenville: $210,210 - $280,280
• Atlanta: $219,900 - $293,150
• Charlotte: $216,000 - $288,000

They are looking for you, an experienced Director of Software Engineering, to lead a large-scale engineering organization and oversee a portfolio of 300+ applications. This is a direct hire opportunity offering high visibility, executive partnership, and the ability to drive enterprise-wide transformation.
What you get to do:
• Lead and scale a distributed engineering organization (40-50+ resources, including offshore)
• Own a complex application portfolio (300+ systems across internal and client-facing platforms)
• Drive modernization initiatives across Azure cloud, AI, automation, and integrations
• Oversee Agile/Scrum delivery across engineering, architecture, BA, DB, and RPA teams
• Act as a "general contractor" aligning people, process, and technology for optimal delivery
• Partner with executive stakeholders and business leaders to drive innovation
• Lead high-impact initiatives, including migration to a Salesforce-based platform
• Enable AI-driven automation and citizen development across the organization
What you need to succeed:
• 15+ years of enterprise technology experience with 8+ years in leadership roles
• Bachelor's degree required (Master's preferred in CS, IT, or related field)
• Strong background in Microsoft ecosystem: Azure, .NET/C#, SQL Server
• Proven experience leading mid-to-large engineering teams and large application portfolios
• Experience driving AI/automation initiatives in enterprise environments
• Expertise in APIs, microservices, data platforms, and cloud governance
• Strong Agile/DevOps experience (CI/CD, GitHub, SDLC best practices)
• Ability to operate at both strategic and execution levels with executive presence
