GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES

In this challenging role, you will be supporting the BSO - Business Office department at Greenville Technical College. Duties may include any or all of the following.

  • Post payments to all student accounts (credit and non-credit) received over the phone and at the Business Office window.
  • Balance the cash box and prepare daily bank deposits.
  • Assist with sponsored billing for special programs such as TEACH and Early College. Prepare book vouchers, process authorizations, generate invoices, respond to inquiries and perform collection activities as needed.
  • Ensure invoices are accurate and contain the necessary information or documentation required by individual companies for payment. Be knowledgeable of, and adhere to company timelines, for the receipt of invoices.
  • Ensure accurate recording of all accounts receivable and financial transactions for the Corporate & Continuing Education (CCE) Division.
  • Balance and reconcile receivable accounts and verify accounting documents.
  • Serve as back-up for academic student sponsorships and perform other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
A high school diploma and experience in entry-level accounting or bookkeeping. A bachelor's degree may be substituted for required work experience.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Associate or Bachelors degree in Business, Finance, Accounting or related field. Two years or more in higher education or in a customer service environment. Experience working with student information (e.g., Colleague, Banner, People Soft or similar). Strong knowledge of institutional policies and procedures related to student accounts, registration or financial operations. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and ability to learn new software as a part of a team in a fast-paced environment. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Commitment to providing quality service and maintaining confidentiality, Experience working with diverse populations and promoting an inclusive environment.
