Description:

Business Analyst
System Modernization (Workflow & Data Migration)

Remote
4 month contract
Must be available for in-person interview in Austin, TX
Government experience required

This role sits right in the middle of a system rewrite.

Not on the sidelines documenting things after the fact, but in the conversations that shape how the new system actually works.

We're looking for a Business Analyst who can lead requirements, challenge gaps, and keep both business and technical teams aligned as an existing workflow and data system is rebuilt into a new platform.

You'll be working through a transition from a Microsoft-based setup to a redesigned solution using Jotform. That means workflows are changing, data structures are changing, and reporting is evolving. Your job is to make sure it all makes sense before, during, and after it's built.

Must haves
• 4-7+ years of Business Analyst experience in technical environments
• Strong experience leading requirements gathering and documentation
• Experience performing gap analysis between current and future state systems
• Experience supporting testing and validating system functionality
• Ability to run stakeholder meetings and keep conversations productive
• Experience working across business and technical teams
• Prior government project experience is required
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal

Nice to have
• Experience with Power BI, Power Automate, or Microsoft Forms
• Experience with Jotform or similar workflow platforms
• Experience working with Excel-based data systems and reporting
• Data analysis experience using Excel or Tableau
• Familiarity with BABOK principles and SDLC

Here's what the work actually looks like.

You'll lead requirements sessions, document how the current system works, and define what the new system needs to do. You'll identify gaps between the two, call out what's missing, and help guide decisions on how to close those gaps.

You'll work closely with the technical lead to track progress, validate what's being built, and make sure it lines up with what the business asked for. Testing is part of the role, not something handed off at the end.

There's also a data component. The system is moving away from Excel-based storage into a new structure, so you'll help ensure legacy and new data can coexist in a way that still supports reporting and analytics.

At iSphere, we're not looking for someone who just documents requirements. We're looking for someone who understands the process, speaks up when something doesn't add up, and helps move the project forward in a practical way.

If you've worked on government projects, know how to navigate stakeholders, and can keep a system rewrite from drifting off course, this one will feel like a good fit.
