Warehouse Team Lead

As a Warehouse Team Lead, you will perform and oversee daily shipping, receiving, and inventory activities in accordance with established procedures and commercial standards. In addition to hands-on execution, this role provides day-to-day leadership, training, and workflow coordination for warehouse associates, ensuring safe, accurate, and timely material movement.

This position requires a dependable, professional, and adaptable individual with strong interpersonal skills and attention to detail. Ideal candidates will demonstrate the ability to identify inventory discrepancies, logistical inefficiencies, and process improvement opportunities while supporting a safety-first, continuous-improvement culture consistent with modern manufacturing and distribution operations.

Candidates must be able to obtain Forklift Operator Certification within 90 days of employment and work effectively with cross-functional teams supporting power conversion and manufacturing operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate forklifts and material handling equipment safely and efficiently to transport materials
  • Lead daily shipping and receiving operations, including sorting, logging, packing, labeling, and shipment coordination
  • Audit inbound and outbound shipments to verify accuracy against orders and documentation
  • Ensure all shipments include proper equipment, manuals, and accessories
  • Prepare and maintain shipping, receiving, and inventory documentation in an orderly and compliant manner
  • Process all receiving transactions; inspect inbound freight for damage and coordinate resolution with Purchasing and Inventory teams
  • Assist with inventory control activities, including cycle counts and discrepancy investigations
  • Support trace requests for missing or delayed shipments
  • Provide on-the-floor guidance and training for new and existing warehouse associates
  • Serve as a point of escalation for daily operational issues in the absence of the Warehouse Manager
  • Maintain safety, housekeeping, and 5S standards in warehouse and shipping areas
  • Perform required administrative tasks, reports, and system updates (WMS/ERP exposure preferred)
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by management
Required Qualifications
  • 5+ years of warehouse experience, including forklift operation in a fast-paced environment
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Demonstrated knowledge of shipping practices, logistics workflows, and carrier coordination
  • Prior experience training or leading warehouse personnel strongly preferred
  • Ability to work independently, manage priorities, and support daily production schedules
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and attention-to-detail skills
  • Basic computer proficiency (ERP/WMS, shipping systems, reporting tools)
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Flexibility and adaptability in a changing manufacturing environment
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work with cross-functional teams
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
Physical Demands & Work Environment
  • Continual use of hand and finger dexterity
  • Frequent standing, walking, lifting, bending, and reaching
  • Regular lifting/pushing/carrying of items up to 60 pounds
  • Work performed near moving mechanical equipment
  • Occasional exposure to wet or humid conditions
  • Occasional exposure to elevated noise levels
  • Ability to work in warehouse and dock environments with varying temperatures
