Yard Coordinator

The Yard Coordinator is responsible for managing the movement and organization of trailers, trucks, and containers within the warehouse yard. This role ensures efficient, safe traffic flow, and accurate housekeeping of the yard at 3 Pelzer Facilities. The Yard Coordinator acts as a key point of communication between warehouse staff, safety team, and facilities teams to maintain smooth and safe yard operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate the arrival, staging, and departure of trucks and trailers in the yard.
• Communicate with drivers and warehouse personnel regarding dock assignments and schedules.
• Monitor yard traffic to ensure safe and efficient vehicle movement.
• Perform regular yard audits and inspections to verify trailer locations and conditions.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations, company policies, and transportation procedures.
• Report equipment issues, damaged trailers, or safety hazards to management.
• Support continuous improvement efforts to increase yard efficiency and organization.
• Coordinate and implement a 5's program for the yard to make sure it is kept organized, clean, and free from any trash or debris.

Qualifications

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent required.

Requirements

• Ability to walk in the yard frequently and work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Ability to lift up to 2550 lbs. occasionally.
• Ability to work standing or moving for extended periods.
• Must be able to drive and operate a forklift.
