MAU is hiring a Material Planner for our client in Piedmont, SC. As a Material Planner, you will ensure accurate and timely material planning, purchasing, and supplier coordination to support production and inventory objectives. This is a direct-hire opportunity.

Required Education and Experience
• High school GED or diploma with diversified procurement and negotiation experience accepted in lieu of a degree
• 3+ years of experience in a fast-paced work environment with scheduling and materials management responsibilities
Preferred Education and Experience
• Associate degree or some college

Essential Functions
• Follow safety rules and maintain a safe and healthful workplace
• Train employees, report unsafe acts or conditions, and correct or recommend health and safety improvements
• Report all accidents or injuries immediately and participate in investigations and completion of action items
• Maintain knowledge of workplace health and safety for employees, the public, and visitors
• Participate in continuous improvement programs to meet departmental performance objectives (inventory accuracy, inventory turns, premium freight)
• Ensure accurate and timely material releases to suppliers
• Purchase and order recurring and non-recurring items to support production and assembly departments
• Establish lead times and minimum inventory requirements for on-time ordering and delivery in a JIT environment
• Coordinate production releases with component suppliers per supplier agreements
• Assist leaders in reconciling variances and implementing corrective actions
• Track and record data for department KPI's
• Reduce overhead budget annually through competitive sourcing and price reductions
• Act as backup to the Purchasing Manager when required
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Purchasing Manager
Working Conditions
• Work in environments with alcohols, solvents, paints, or plastic sanding dust
Physical Demands
• Stand or walk for a minimum of eight (8) hours, including frequent stair use
• Lift up to 15 pounds frequently and up to 40 pounds occasionally
• Work below the knees and above the shoulders
• Wear a respirator when needed
• Have good close vision and the ability to distinguish color with or without corrective lenses
• Hear alarms with or without hearing aids
