Title: Material Handler

Location: Greenville, SC

Shift: 5/40-1st Shift

Pay Rate: $19.00 /hr. on W2!

Contract: 12-month contract to potential extension

Citizenship Requirement: Must be US Citizen

Job Summary:

• Loads, unloads, collects, and properly conveys Hazardous and Non-Hazardous waste containers (Drums, ICB Totes, Bins, Buckets) materials from the production and hangar areas to the site's waste consolidation location.
• Collects Scrap metals, Wood/Pallet/Plastic recyclables materials around the facility to the recycling collection areas.
• Performs a combination of tasks under specific direction which may include shipping and/or receiving consolidation of waste materials.
• Opens containers using hand tools; counts and weighs materials and records information. Loads and unloads materials (waste/recyclables/scrap) onto or from pallets and waste compactors machines by hand; loads or unloads materials into or from trucks by hand.
• Conveys materials using wheelbarrow, hand truck, forklift, pallet jack, electric dolly, elevator, or other devices; stacks or assembles materials; aids machine operators by lifting heavy objects by hand or by use of hoists or other lifting devices. Uses a forklift, delivery truck with lift gate to load 55-gallon drums, waste and recyclable materials. PPE - Safety Shoes, Safety Glasses, Protective equipment as needed (Chemical Resistant Gloves, General Protective Gloves, Splash Gown, Dust Mask for comfort use only, etc..).
• Physical demands - up to 8 hours/day standing, lifting up to 50 pounds occasionally and 35 lbs often, physically able to move and handle heavy drums of waste materials manual with drum dollies. Range of motion - Able to bend, stoop at the waist to reach down into containers/drums/receptacles to remove waste and scrap materials.

• Handling Hazardous Materials and Wastes, RCRA experience
• Currently hold or has held forklift cert,
• able to be standing 8 hours/day, manual labor in a medium to heavy work environment.
• Safety shoes required
