Meeting Street Schools is a groundbreaking network of four South Carolina schools with a mission of "empowering children with the excellent, life-changing education they deserve." We were founded in 2008 to give hard-working students the opportunity to receive an education that will transform their lives. We are ambitious in our commitment to families, and we expect the same in return. We value exceptional teaching, life-changing student achievement, innovation and a growth mindset, and gratitude and responsibility.
Experienced educators are typically certified teachers in early childhood, elementary, or middle school classrooms. MSS teachers combine the ability to motivate and educate, to develop academic as well as character skills, and to make a college preparatory education relevant both now and for the future. MSS teachers have a growth mindset and are afforded multiple professional development opportunities throughout the year, including collaborative planning sessions, whole and small group school-wide focus professional development, team analysis of performance data, and other personalized opportunities for teachers to grow.
In most cases, lead teachers are paired with a co-teacher or fellow teacher. Co-teachers act as co-leads, and fellow teachers are newer to the profession and will be mentored by the lead teacher.
