What Is Tech Builder?
It's our HVAC technician training program! And it's not just training—when you pass the class, we'll hire you full-time as an official Morris-Jenkins HVAC technician at our Greenville location.
Our next class starts on May 18th, 2026!
We'll pay you during training ($18/hr with a raise when you graduate). After all, we want you to focus on learning and becoming the best tech possible, not worrying about how you'll pay your bills.
Training is at our state-of-the-art training facility in Charlotte, NC. On training days, we'll include breakfast, lunch, and dinner. You'll also have the choice between either a free hotel room for training days OR mileage reimbursement to and from training.
Our Tech Builder trainees come from all kinds of backgrounds—retail workers, servers, massage therapists, students, insurance adjusters… you name it! Your past doesn't have to dictate what you become in your future.

Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the person is frequently required to move about within customers' homes inside tight crawlspaces and ascend/descend ladders lifting one's own bodyweight through narrow entrances into attics. Must be able to identify and inspect equipment, parts, and colored wiring to safely test, repair, and install electrical connections with precise hand-eye motor skills.
Mental Demands: Must be able to perceive and distinguish emotions, as well as deal with adversarial confrontations. Requires an ability to concentrate and prioritize multiple tasks at once. Conscious attention to detail is required to safely perform tasks.
Work Environment: Frequently requires exposure to outdoor weather conditions and other hazards such as electrical shock, toxic fumes, caustic chemicals, UV light, sharp objects, venomous animals, etc., which may cause noticeable discomfort or a moderate risk of accident or illness. This job requires the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) as directed by company policy.
