GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

To support Goodwill's electronics recycling business while ensuring revenue generation, divisional productivity, and excellent customer service.

To support the sales of electronic devices, equipment, and parts through downstream vendors, online listings, and retail outlets.

To encourage and promote a mutual associate/customer/donor relationship which enhances the financial sustainability of Goodwill Industries.

To provide an efficient, safe environment for the processing and presentation of computers and other electronics from donations.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:

To lead the daily operations of Goodwill's electronics recycling business, in the absence of the Business Services Manager and Director of Sustainability.

To determine appropriate opportunities to maximize revenue on donated electronics.

To maintain compliance with all applicable DOD standards, etc. that affect the privacy of information that may be stored on computer systems, hard drives, and/or any peripheral attachments.

To process electronics that will be resold to ensure all protected information and data is cleared via disposal of hard drives, data wipes, and/or resetting to factory settings.

To follow established standard operating procedures for electronics recycling, and ensure other associates are adhering to protocol.

To monitor item quotas while maintaining the appearance and descriptiveness of high-quality products placed online

and ensure item descriptions are grammatically correct and spelled properly.

To support the team's goals for meeting divisional quotas of items tested, processed, listed, or otherwise placed for sale.

To maintain a consistent and organized operation for packing and unpacking new and outgoing product, ensuring that sold items are properly packed and shipped within 72 hours of payment and to work with various outside sources on scheduling shipments and pick-ups.

To handle all customer complaints and find the best resolutions for any other issues and needs that arise. Monitor customer complaints and questions through the use of email, telephone or in person and ensure every situation is handled in a professional manner and within 48 hours.

To effectively communicate with Goodwill leaders regarding operations and outcomes.

To perform general housekeeping, custodial, and janitorial duties as needed.

To perform all other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in electronics processing, recycling, retail operations, or a related field preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to comfortably work on computers, laptops, and other electronic devices, including performing data wipes, hard drive removal, and factory resets
  • Working knowledge of data security, privacy standards, and compliance requirements related to electronic data (or willingness to learn and adhere to DOD and Goodwill standards)
  • Ability to identify resale, recycling, and revenue-maximizing opportunities for donated electronics
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks, meet productivity quotas, and maintain attention to detail
  • Comfortable using computers and software systems for inventory tracking, online listings, email communication, and basic data entry
  • Ability to write clear, accurate, and grammatically correct product descriptions for online sales platforms
  • Proven customer service skills, including handling customer complaints professionally and resolving issues in a timely manner
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with team members, leadership, vendors, and customers
  • Ability to work independently and lead daily operations in the absence of management
  • Physically able to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 35 pounds and perform repetitive tasks such as packing, unpacking, sorting, and processing electronics
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and perform light custodial and housekeeping duties throughout the workday
