JOB DESCRIPTION:
MAIN PURPOSE OF THE ROLE

Responsible for setting up and operating a variety of computer-controlled and/or mechanically controlled machine tools to produce precision metal parts, instruments or tools. Work includes assignment planning, layout, set up, operating and making tool adjustments for various types of manual, numerically controlled and computerized machine shop equipment. Works from blueprints, process documents to perform production tasks, which may include the cutting and shaping of metals and plastics to precision dimensions. These functions must be performed in compliance with all Company and Departmental Standard Operating Procedures.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Work from blueprints, sketches or computer-aided design (CAD) or computer-aided manufacturing (CAM) files.
  • Set up, operate and tear down manual, automatic or computer numeric controlled (CNC) machine tools.
  • Calculate dimensions using measuring instruments.
  • Install, align, secure and adjust cutting tools and workpieces.
  • Monitor the feed and speed of the machines.
  • Turn, mill, drill, shape and grind machine parts to specifications.
  • Measure, examine and test completed products for defects.
  • Deburr all surfaces of parts or products to ensure that they conform to specifications.
  • Understand and comply with applicable EHS policies, procedures and guidelines.
  • Responsible for implementing and maintaining the effectiveness of the Quality System.
  • Quality of the product is directly linked to the accuracy of the associated tasks.
  • Not meeting requirements may result in delays and additional cost may be incurred.
QUALIFICATIONS

Ability to work 2nd Shift: 4 days a week, 10 hours a day on weekdays: Monday through Thursday

Education
  • High School Diploma / GED
Experience/Background
  • Ability to work on assignments that are complex in nature where considerable judgment and initiative are required in resolving problems and making
    recommendations.
  • May determine methods and procedures on new
    assignments and may provide guidance to other employees.
  • Ability to follow departmental Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) dictated by FDA and ISO requirements.
  • Good math, problem-solving and computer skills.
  • Ability to form and develop interpersonal, professional relationships. Display socially and professionally appropriate behavior.
  • Ability to work independently and in groups.
  • Demonstrated initiative and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to prioritize.
  • Ability and aptitude to provide solutions and contingency plans through the
  • comprehensive review of alternative.
  • Stamina as long periods of standing and performing repetitive tasks are not uncommon - technical skills.
  • Detail- orientation.
  • Minimum 4 years relevant manual and CNC machining experience.


The base pay for this position is
$17.15 - $34.25/hour
In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
