Structural Engineer

We have an exciting opportunity for a Structural Engineer with an established firm that is experiencing growth. As a structural engineer you will be responsible for accurately working out the structural integrity of proposed construction and ensuring it meets regulations such as health and safety.

Job Duties:

1. Design & provide structural engineering solutions for client projects
2. Align & coordinate with other engineering disciplines on client deliverables/projects
3. Proactively anticipate client and project needs
4. Communicate in an effective and timely manner with internal and external stakeholders
5. Set and manage project schedules, coordinating internal with QA/QC goals
6. Using computer modelling simulations to predict how structures will act under varying conditions, i.e. high winds, flooding or earth tremors
7. Calculating loads and stresses on structural foundations, beams and walls
8. Ensuring projects meet legal, environmental and health and safety standards
9. Advising on suitable materials for a build
10. Advising on building repairs or demolition
11. Preparing bids for tender
12. Working with designers to develop construction plans and blueprints
13. Delivering progress reports
14. Assisting with renovations, or restoring heritage buildings to extend their lifespan

Required:

• Bachelor's degree in Structural Engineering
• 3 plus years of structural design of commercial, life science, or industrial buildings.
• Revit Proficiency

Preferred:

• RAM Structural Systems, Autodesk ROBOT, or Tekla Structural Design (TSD) experience
• PE
