Serves as the County Safety Representative for Greenville Maintenance Facilities to detect safety hazards in work operations, in buildings, with machinery and related equipment and on the roadway. Protects employees from potentially hazardous chemicals, machine tools, and processes. Ensures that facilities and grounds are in compliance with OSHA regulations. Inspects work zones to ensure that traffic control applications for work zones on the roadways are in proper compliance. Ensures the "Personal Protective Equipment" (PPE) policy is met in accordance with the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) standards. Ensures proper PPE equipment is issued to employees. Ensures all remote work sites, the shop yard, equipment, and facilities are kept up to the guidelines for annual audits and surprise visits by OSHA inspections.
