The hourly range provided is an estimate. Pay at Cardinal Health is determined by multiple factors, including a candidate's geographical location, relevant education, experience, and an evaluation of internal pay equity.
Work schedule for this role is: Thursday-Friday 8:00am - 6:30pm (or until work is complete) and Saturday-Sunday 7:00am - 5:30pm. Overtime may be required based on business needs.
Overview of Warehouse Operations: Operations are responsible for materials handling and product distribution within a distribution environment, including warehousing and fulfillment of materials and products, transportation, and inventory management.
Key Responsibilities:
Follow established Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for processing orders, including accurately picking, performing quality control checks, sorting, consolidating freight, building, and wrapping pallets, packing, loading, and preparing orders for shipment.
Utilize material handling equipment for picking large case items or place small unit measure items on designated carts.
Engage in cross-training in multiple areas of the warehouse and participate in projects as needed.
Utilize the Warehouse Management System (WMS) for checking in and/or sending out products.
Operate material handling equipment such as order picker, forklift, and pallet jack as required.
Maintain a clean, safe work environment and perform housekeeping and inventory control tasks.
Address routine assignments requiring problem resolution.
Participate in associate meetings and communicate any concerns to management.
Adhere to OSHA standards and all organization policies, rules, and regulations.
Qualifications:
Frequent lifting of up to 50 pounds.
Ability to bend, reach, stoop, lift, and stand for the duration of the shift.
Comfortable working at heights of 20-30 feet regularly.
High School diploma, GED, or equivalent work experience preferred.
Previous experience with material handling equipment (PIT) preferred.
Experience with radio frequency (RF) scanners and/or voice picking highly preferred.
Willingness to work overtime with little to no advance notice.
Ability to follow directions and adapt priorities while working independently or as part of a team.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced warehouse environment while meeting performance standards.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Willing to learn to operate material handling equipment and alternate between various warehouse areas.
Commit to site safety protocols, including wearing required personal protective equipment.
