Nature of Work

Under the supervision of the Navigator Coordinator, this position provides clinical and administrative coordination of activities related to the intake, assessment, intervention, and treatment of adult clients. Duties include Navigating the assessment and admission process for new clients to ensure that clients receive the appropriate level of care for treatment with The Phoenix Center. Make suggestions on program improvements; monitor their clinical documentation for quality and adherence to set standards. No supervisory responsibilities. May require extended after hours and weekend work.

This position involves activities that require ability to lift 30 lbs., reaching, climbing, and grasping. Vocal communication is required for expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word. Hearing is required to perceive information at normal spoken word levels. Visual acuity is required for preparing and analyzing written or computer data, determining the accuracy and thoroughness of work, and observing surroundings and activities. The worker is not subjected to adverse environmental conditions.

JOB DUTIES

  • Conducts ADS/BHS screening and assessments on new admissions and recommends placement into services based on ASAM criteria and SUD Diagnosis.
  • Provides crisis intervention services to clients as needed.
  • Develops an Individualized Treatment Plan along with client input.
  • Makes referrals to external agencies as deemed appropriate for the identified client.
  • Participates in weekly treatment staffing to receive and provide feedback on client admissions.
  • Conducts individual or group counseling sessions with assigned clients as ordered on the Individualized Treatment Plan.
  • Maintains effective working relationships with external agencies through regular case management activities.
  • Completes periodic written client evaluations and reports in a neat and timely manner.
  • Prepares periodic and specific reports as requested or assigned.
  • Performs administrative duties relevant to client services.
  • Actively supports ERI values of acknowledgment, commitment, openness, celebration, and humility.
  • Actively support a trauma informed and responsive work environment as demonstrated in the 5 core values of safety, trustworthiness, choice, collaboration, and empowerment.
  • Actively supports and implements Motivational Interviewing as the program's core evidence based practice.
  • Performs related duties as required.
  • Serves on Commission committee(s) as needed.


Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Knowledge of rehabilitative counseling principles and techniques applicable to substance use.

Knowledge of the field of psychology.

Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with clients, staff and other agencies.

Ability to prepare and complete reports.

Skills in basic listening and counseling.

Required Training and Experience

Bachelor's degree in human service area from accredited institution with successful completion of ADC process within 3 years of hire. Master's degree in human service area from an accredited institution, ADC credentialed is highly preferred.
