Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our team in Greenville, South Carolina. In this long-term contract position, you will play a key role in managing financial records, reconciling accounts, and ensuring compliance with tax regulations. This opportunity is ideal for someone with a strong background in accounting and a commitment to precision.Responsibilities:- Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes to ensure accurate and timely transactions.- Review general ledger accounts and prepare journal entries to maintain financial accuracy.- Perform detailed account analysis and reconcile discrepancies, including bank statements and intercompany accounts.- Maintain and update the general ledger chart of accounts.- Assist in evaluating and improving internal controls for operational efficiency.- Post accruals on a monthly, quarterly, and yearly basis to ensure proper expense recognition.- Collaborate with team members to ensure compliance with corporate and sales tax regulations.- Prepare and review corporate tax returns to meet statutory requirements.- Provide support during audits to address inquiries and ensure proper documentation.- Contribute to financial reporting and analysis as needed. Requirements - Proven experience in corporate tax, including preparation and compliance.- Proficiency in managing sales tax and ensuring accurate filings.- Strong knowledge of corporate tax return processes.- Expertise in preparing and adjusting journal entries.- Familiarity with general ledger maintenance and reconciliation.- Excellent analytical skills for account analysis and financial data interpretation.- Ability to work effectively within a team and communicate financial information clearly.- Strong attention to detail and commitment to meeting deadlines.
