Overview
The IT VMO - Business Analyst is a critical resource within the IT Vendor Management Office, leveraging specialized expertise (initially focused on Telecommunications and Circuits) to drive continuous improvement, optimize vendor performance, and achieve measurable cost efficiencies across the IT vendor landscape. This role works transversally across the organization, acting as a specialized support layer for VMO-led projects and engagements where complex vendor management, financial analysis, or deep technical domain knowledge (e.g., telecom) is required.
Key Responsibilities:
Specialized Vendor Engagement & Performance Management
Act as an internal VMO subject matter expert for complex vendor engagements, primarily focusing on Telephony and Circuit vendors, to ensure their performance aligns with contractual terms and the organization's strategic financial and operational goals.
Serve as the internal point of contact and VMO escalation manager for performance and contractual issues specific to Telephony and Circuit vendors,
working within the VMO team to coordinate resolution. (Note: The primary organization-wide contact for day-to-day operational and service delivery issues resides with the IT Infrastructure team.)
Collaborate with internal stakeholders (e.g., IT Towers, Legal/Real Estate) to identify and resolve vendor-related process bottlenecks impacting service delivery (e.g., MACD projects, site readiness), with a specialized focus on the Telephony/Circuits domain.
Contribute to the IT VMO's oversight of key vendor relationships by monitoring and reporting on vendor performance, identifying opportunities for improvement, and assisting with vendor rationalization.
Cost Optimization & Financial Oversight
Lead targeted cost optimization initiatives within the VMO framework, beginning with a comprehensive cleansing initiative for telephony and circuit assets. Identify, analyze, and drive the elimination of obsolete, duplicate, or unused services to achieve measurable and sustainable cost reductions.
Develop and maintain a robust, centralized asset inventory (initially focused on telephony and circuit assets) to ensure accuracy and provide the foundational data for financial reporting and cost allocation.
Support the integration of detailed financial data from key vendor relationships (including telephony and circuits) into overall IT cost management and forecasting frameworks.
VMO Process Improvement & Standardization
Identify, analyze, and document opportunities for process improvements across the entire vendor lifecycle (e.g., vendor selection, contract management, onboarding/offboarding, performance tracking).
Work collaboratively with internal IT teams (e.g., Infrastructure, Applications) and Procurement to implement streamlined VMO processes and best practices that enhance efficiency and compliance.
Cross-Functional Support & Expertise Pool
Function as a flexible, specialized resource for the IT Business Solution team and VMO Manager, stepping into different VMO-focused engagements across various IT domains as required.
Act as a liaison between IT VMO, IT Infrastructure, Finance, Procurement, and other IT Towers to ensure cohesive vendor management, effective cost control, and strategic alignment.
Participate in Quarterly Business Reviews (QBRs) and Management Operating Reviews (MORs) for key vendors, representing the VMO's interest in performance and strategic value.
