The Claims Processor supports the Legal, Risk, and Warranty functions by guiding claimants through the warranty claim process, managing customer communications, and maintaining accurate claim records. This role also assists with invoice processing, extracting claim information to support legal and risk initiatives, and manages insurance certificates to ensure contract compliance. This position plays a key role in maintaining accuracy, consistency, and strong relationships with customers and external partners.

This role is considered a HYBRID position with periodic onsite work at our headquarters in Apple Valley, Minnesota.

What will you do?

Warranty Claim Support

  • Provides instruction to customers on how to set-up a project/claim within the Uponor claims system, sets expectations with customers on timelines for resolution, and provides guidance on how to return samples to Uponor's facility for root cause analysis.
  • Opens claim files for insurance and legal matters.
  • Responsible for maintaining and updating claim information to ensure the accuracy of the claim file.
  • Manages the warranty phone and email box to ensure all customer inquiries are addressed in a timely manner.
  • Drafts chain-of-custody forms and assists with UPS shipments to ensure product samples are returned to the customer.
  • Mails claim reimbursement checks to customers and uploads copy into claim file.
  • Scans, distributes, and uploads incoming mail for warranty team on a weekly basis.
  • Continually shares experience and knowledge to improve customer experience
  • Extracts claim files for defense counsel review.
  • Responsible for maintaining and updating claim information to ensure the accuracy of the claim file.
  • Prepares legal invoices for payment by coding and uploading defense invoices into the correct claim file, submitting invoices to finance, and creating payment lines.
Insurance/Risk Support
  • Assists with gathering necessary documentation to support insurance renewal.
  • Files Certificates of Insurance and ensures compliance with active contracts.
  • Preparation of auto policy invoices including extraction of invoices from the insurance carrier billing portal, account coding, and submission to finance for payment.
  • Extraction of claim files and other supporting documentation on various complex and series of loss claims to support Risk Management recovery initiatives.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Seeks out opportunities to contribute to business success through proactive involvement in team initiatives.
What will you need?
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree preferred.
  • 1-2 years of experience handling claims, or 3+ years in customer service or administrative support.
  • Ability to review and interpret certificates of insurance to ensure contract compliance.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal, listening, and customer service skills, demonstrating a strong customer-focused mindset and the ability to communicate effectively, adapt to change, and handle complex or challenging situations with professionalism.
  • Highly detail-oriented self-starter with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
  • Proficient computer skills, including the ability to work effectively over the phone and in virtual environments.
  • Willingness to learn and develop a strong understanding of company products and services.

Please note that this range represents the full base hourly rate for the role and hiring at or near the top of the range is uncommon to ensure room for future pay advancement.
