Days/Hours: 190 Days / 7.5 Hours per day
This position is for the 26-27 school year and will begin in July 2026.
Qualifications
The person in this position must have the following qualifications or equivalent experience:
1. Master's Degree or higher preferred,
2. Valid South Carolina teaching credential in a middle-level or secondary subject
3. Minimum of five (5) years teaching experience preferred,
4. In-depth knowledge of reading literacy, math literacy, instructional technology, current research, and trends in the field
5. Experience organizing and teaching professional development programs, and
6. Any other qualifications deemed appropriate by the School Board.

Broad Functions
The instructional coach will:
- Develop and lead professional learning communities
- Assist with data analysis
- Model effective instructional practice by teaching demonstration lessons
- Observe and coach teachers
Responsibility and Authority The instructional coach shall have the responsibility and authority to accomplish assigned duties within district policies, state laws and regulations, and federal laws and regulations.
Specific Duties 1. Maintain an awareness of best practices and current research on instruction, instructional technology, and related research that enhances and improves instruction
2. Serve as a resource for teachers throughout the school to implement instructional practices and integrated instructional technology
3. Develop professional development projects, courses, workshops, academies, and institutes on Literacy, Mathematics, and Instructional Technology.
4. Assist with the coordination and scheduling of professional development activities in relation to the literacy initiative and the integration of technology
5. Plan and develop effective strategies to increase student achievement through data analysis
6. Consult with teachers in interpreting test data and planning appropriate instruction
7. Provide assistance to teachers in data analysis and improvement of instruction for optimal student achievement
8. Plan and conduct collaborative model lessons that incorporate the use of instructional technology
9. Provide guidelines for the purchase of appropriate instructional materials, including instructional technology, to support the school's professional development initiatives and to enhance and extend instruction
10. Model instructional strategies for students who are having difficulty with the content
11. Assist with writing of grants related to professional development, instruction, and accountability in order to purchase necessary instructional materials and instructional software
12. Serve as liaison teacher attendance at Upstate Schools Consortium and other state training
13. Carry out any other duties related to the instructional program as deemed necessary by the Superintendent or his/her designee.
