JOB SUMMARY

As a BIM Project Coordinator, you will be instrumental in setting up Revit models and managing Autodesk Construction Cloud projects. You will draft BIM execution plans and convert Revit models to AutoCAD, ensuring a comprehensive understanding of how each discipline contributes to the project's success.

Your role includes performing clash detection and creating borders under the guidance of the BIM Specialist. It is essential to identify key components in the model and comprehend their relationship to the overall project scope.

In addition, you will review project documentation or existing information to determine the appropriate project coordinate system and scope. A thorough understanding of each model component and its contribution to the project scope is critical.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Exhibit professional ethics in interactions with colleagues, clients, and vendors.
  • Review rough sketches, drawings, specifications, and other engineering data provided by the project team.
  • Monitor the project scope of work and alert project management to any perceived changes in scope that may arise during the design phase.
  • Evaluate design inputs and communicate any ambiguous, incomplete, or conflicting information back to the input provider for resolution, including processing vendor drawings, marked-up drawings, design basis, notes, and verbal instructions.
  • Verify design output to ensure it aligns with design input, including compliance with design basis and industry standards.
  • Handle design-related work changes after validated documents are issued and notify project management of any perceived changes in scope due to these alterations.
  • Adhere to Jedson Engineering Inc.'s drafting and quality standards.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

A basic level of competency in 2D and 3D software, specifically AutoCAD, REVIT, Navisworks, Autodesk Construction Cloud, and Plant 3D, is essential. Understanding model generation and setup is vital for success in this role.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Associate degree (A.A.) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school; 5 to 7 years of experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
